About the Artist
Ron Kelsey is a seed sack collector and an expert in seed art. He has been the superintendent of the Minnesota State Fair’s farm crops area for two decades, overseeing the crop art competition. Ron will be presenting an activity in which visitors can create their own seed art.

Artist Statement
We have the only state fair in the United States that has a competition in seed art. Other state fairs have come to try and learn about it and get it started, but they haven’t been successful as far as we know. I always say its success in Minnesota has something to do with our long winters.
