Artist Statement
I paint mostly wildlife and nature scenes in bold colors and fine details, using oils on gessoboard. Keeping to 40+ hour work weeks, each painting takes multiple months to complete, some even require most of a year! Then I take the originals to a master printer with a world-class, museum-grade scanner and have both traditional paper and dye-sublimation aluminum prints made.
I love to spend long hours exploring the great outdoors, taking in the majestic scenery of God's creation. Dramatic lighting, complex environments full of texture and color, wildlife full of life and personality; all these things I soak in and store away in my mind (and my camera.) Then I return to my easel and try to recapture not only the fine, technical details but also the feeling I found when I was out there.
